A new PEMF mat just launched in early 2025 with far infrared heat, low-intensity PEMF, and triple light therapy. It’s available in both full-body and portable PEMF mat formats. Seven gemstone types are visible through the top layer. You’ll also get faster preheat and rare green and blue light settings, which aren’t common in most healing mats.
Holistix says it’s designed for safe daily use, especially for recovery, better sleep, and pain relief. But does the lower-intensity PEMF actually do anything for pain and recovery? We looked at the science and early user reports. Here’s what we found, and whether the $1,499 full-size mat holds up.
Here's a quick rundown:
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Far infrared heat up to 167°F, with quick warmup and two timer modes | 30-day trial, shorter than many other premium brands offering 60, 90 of even 120 days |
Nine PEMF frequencies pulsed at low intensity for safer use | Newer brand with less mainstream recognition |
Gemstone layer includes amethyst plus six others, chosen for interaction with frequency and heat | Limited customer reviews make it harder to gauge long-term user experience |
Photon light therapy built into the mat | Mat cover is not included; sold separately |
Lighter full-size mat (24 lbs vs. HigherDOSE’s 43 lbs) | High price point, but reflects multi-therapy tech and materials like 7 gemstones and photon lights |
Designed and warehoused in the US; every unit inspected by the founders |
75" x 32" (190.5 x 81.3 cm) – 24 lbs (10.9 kg)
Holistix’s H.I. Life reflects their focus on combining proven therapies like PEMF and infrared heat into portable, user-friendly wellness solutions.
Paragon is still new, and most reviews so far come from the Holistix website. While the quality and detail vary, a few early users report noticeable results, especially for back pain, post-injury recovery, and relaxation.
“I first tried it after throwing my back out… couldn’t believe the pain relief after one 25-minute session. Then I fell hard again two weeks later and had zero pain the next morning, just sore toes. No inflammation.” - Grace Clark
These reports align with clinical PEMF studies showing effectiveness for pain relief and recovery. Other users share similar experiences:
“I sit a lot for work… I use it on level 7 or 8, very hot, and it soothes my back.” - Anonymous
“Used PEMF before and it didn’t work, but this one with the stones does.” - Anika S.
“PEMF setting keeps me focused during work-from-home days… HRV has improved, and I feel more grounded.” - Anonymous
“Improved my sleep quality so much.” - Candace
Multiple studies show PEMF therapy can help manage chronic pain. One meta-analysis from 2020 reviewed 14 trials involving 618 people with low back pain [1]. It found that PEMF significantly reduced pain compared to placebo or standard treatments. The strongest results came from devices using frequencies between 5 and 50 Hz. That’s the same range used by the Paragon. Researchers suggest PEMF may work by reducing nerve sensitivity and lowering inflammation, including markers like IL-6.
Another review in 2019 looked at PEMF therapy for osteoarthritis [2]. It analyzed 15 placebo-controlled trials. Researchers found consistent benefits across pain, stiffness, and daily function. The effect on pain was considered strong compared to placebo. Improvements in movement and joint stiffness were also common. Some studies reported better quality of life, though those results were mixed.
While these trials weren’t based on the Paragon PEMF mat specifically, they suggest PEMF therapy has measurable short-term effects for people dealing with chronic pain.
🔹 Portability: The full-size Holistix Paragon weighs 24 pounds (10.9 kg), which makes it more portable than most PEMF mats in its class. It’s manageable for home use, but still bulky if you plan to move or store it often. If you travel frequently or want something lighter, the Demi version weighs just 12 pounds (5.5 kg) and may be a better fit.
🔹 Fit & Setup: The Demi mat is more portable at 39" x 20", but like other mats this size, it won’t fit every chair. If you plan to use it while seated, measure your chair first to be sure it works for your setup.
🔹 Covering: Depending on how you use the mat, it’s a good idea to cover it. Holistix sells a fitted mat cover for $69, not cheap but it covers the full mat. A large towel can also work if you prefer a simpler option.
🔹 If you have a pacemaker, electronic implant, or medical condition, check with your doctor before using a PEMF mat. The same goes for pregnancy or if you're on medication. Consult our PEMF safety guide for device interaction thresholds.
We also suggest you check out our buyer's guide for frequently asked questions about PEMF mats.
PEMF technology uses safe, low-frequency electromagnetic waves to help the body recover. It's not the same as the high-frequency radiation in x-rays or microwaves [3].
PEMF therapy is FDA-approved for things like non-union fractures, post-surgery pain, and osteoarthritis [4]. It’s also common for chronic pain, recovery, rehab, and reducing inflammation.

The Paragon mat uses far infrared heat to reach deep tissues and improve blood flow. Unlike surface heat, infrared affects the body at a deeper level. Studies suggest it interacts with water in the body, helping circulation, reducing inflammation, and easing pain. It may also increase cellular energy (ATP) by acting on mitochondria [5].
Infrared therapy has been used in clinical settings for joint pain, wound care, and muscle recovery. NASA has even studied near-infrared for tissue repair in space [6].

Both Holistix mats include a layer of seven natural stones: amethyst, sodalite, blue lace agate, green and yellow aventurine, carnelian, and red jasper. These are heated during use, combining with the PEMF and infrared therapies. Even without heat, these stones are believed to emit subtle energy frequencies that some users find calming or balancing.
Each stone has been traditionally linked with different qualities. Amethyst is associated with calm, sodalite with clarity, carnelian with energy, and others with similar effects. When heated, these gemstones naturally release negative ions. Negative ions may help the body recharge and flush out waste more efficiently [7].
While there is no scientific proof that crystals directly affect health, some users find the addition grounding or emotionally soothing. At the very least, they add weight and a tactile quality that some people enjoy. As one put it, “It’s hard to tell from the pictures but this PEMF mat is really jam packed with stones! A+++.”
👉 The science behind Gemstone Heat Therapy
The Paragon Full mat uses red, green, and blue photon lights, while the Demi features red light only.
🔹 Blue light may influence circadian rhythms, purifies the bloodstream, and helps with eye and ear issues through deep cleansing.
🔹 Green light helps balance hormones, aids digestion, and strengthens immunity and the nervous system.
🔹 Red light provides warmth and stimulation, improves circulation, raises energy and body temperature, and may help with low vitality and anemia. It also helps skin cells regenerate by increasing mitochondrial energy production and lowering oxidative stress.
Research shows red LED therapy can reverse signs of skin aging by improving firmness, elasticity, and skin texture, with effects lasting even after treatment stops [8]. This technology also aids detoxification, leading to increased energy and healthier skin overall.
Pets seem to love Holistix PEMF mat too. "The Demi is the perfect size for both me and my dog. When he sees me setting up, he comes right over now." (T. Brogan) Holistix doesn’t make a pet-sized mat yet, so if your pet keeps claiming yours, consider covering it and getting a separate one just for them. 👉 Check out our PETSPEMF review.

What stood out most to us with the Holistix mat is how intentional the design feels. The founders didn’t just add PEMF or gemstones because they’re trendy. They lowered the PEMF intensity on purpose for something safer and more balanced. You can tell they thought about real daily use, from upgraded wiring to quicker warm-up and the way the crystals interact with heat and frequency.
The seven colors of gemstones match the mat’s design. You can see and feel them. Photon light therapy in the full model includes not just red but also green and blue lights, which is rare to find in mats like this.
Compared to some competitors, this mat is lighter, and its weight feels worth it for the benefits it delivers. There aren’t many user reviews yet, but what we’ve seen suggests a solid, thoughtful product. Long-term reliability data is still emerging, though. We’re curious to see where this goes.
Since launching, Holistix has shown its products at major beauty events like Premier Orlando and Cosmoprof Las Vegas. They focus on safety and quality. Unlike many PEMF mats, Holistix lowers PEMF intensity and uses gemstones that work with frequencies and light. For instance, heated amethyst gives off far infrared, adding extra benefits.
All products feature upgraded wiring and automotive-grade lights for durability, even in high-traffic settings. All units undergo factory EMF safety checks and comply with ICNIRP standards (≤2 mG). This commitment reflects the founders’ nearly 30 years of combined health and wellness experience and their hands-on approach to quality.
